Well, Buddhism is the only religion that doesn't have a creation or a creator. Life is eternal so it doesn't have a start neither an ending. The pinnacle of the Buddhist teaching is the Lotus Sutra and the faith that is required to get enlightenment is the faith in your inner buddahood. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

Right from the start I knew it would be an absurd bias. The fossil record shows new biology showing up in a geological instant when the conditions allow it. The biologist is lying about the implications modern science has shown towards design and God. It isn't a mess there is a clear and significant repeated progression of intent.
Like I'm gonna let that happen.
And still most people belive in god, or some religion.... People ar stupid! Only very few are bright enugh to look for the truth
Just described the entire liberal administration
False. Asians are the one facing greatest discriminations
Big Think? There is a word for that: it's called Philosophy. The funny thing is that this man wants to be a philosopher at the same time as he wants to disavow and efface philosophy. Competent philosophers are also anti-philosophers, whereas this guy simply wants to push a philosophy that pretends it isn't philosophy, a philosophy masquerading under the banner of empirical facts, defending and protecting itself under the mantle of scientific reality. This 'science communicator' should remain quiet, because science speaks in mathematics, and this dude keeps using words.
The biggest problem is we aren’t given direction and guidance. We are forced to be women when we are not.
Maybe in another universe you were a scientist. In this one you are no different than flat earth believers.
What about a flat earther who wouldn't do the effort to go to any shore or even listening to any of these proof?
Why is 19th Century 'race' science pseudo-science and today's science 'real' science? What rational basis is there to think that 'this time' we have it right and no future science will turn our science into yesterday's pseudo-science? What is the time-line here? Isn't science still young? Are we not denying our children the opportunity to grow up to make scientific discoveries that Will revolutionize and overturn current science? Are we not foreclosing the dialectical right of our children to pursue their scientific career goals and ambitions by declaring that today's science (and not yesterday's or tomorrow's) is the real science and all they can hope for, at best, is to tidy up our epistemic regime? After all, it is as conveniently naive to think science is simply an empirical process and experimental method as it is to think capitalistic markets are perfectly functioning mechanisms ideally left untampered with... and preferably unexamined. This 'science communicator' whose job it is to inspire children and simplify the mathematical language of science also simplifies the 'reality' of science: the fact that in reality, it is academic careerism that drives science -- the social will to science -- and that therefore science in its desire and dialecticity must, for the sake of the children, remain as unfinished today as it was yesterday, for the sake of their future, their sense of purpose and career goals... their reputation, Hegelian recognition, high esteem, and the 'supremacy' of being the 'top' of their field.
This guy is not controversial, he is the rock bottom of humanity. Why is he here BT?
Man... this guy is just... dumb lol
I'm 63, and I was never a traditional male, but struggled when I was much younger. In the 80s, at my worst, I found fitness and ambition, and then was able to fix my life, but part of the thinking behind making my life was becoming well-rounded, but also at least partially, "Don't be men, men are stupid." At the time, there were reports that started coming out about men not getting education, and I was going back to finish my degree. Strike one. Women were choosing fitness. Women would howl at me, while men would harass me. Strike two. I have seen the divergence going on for quite some time, with men getting stupider and stupider - collectively anyway - and women getting smarter and smarter. I'm lucky in some ways, to be smart, with a background in technology, and I realize my path is not one that most men could or would choose, but masculinity is not the solution, since from the current state, it would only be toxic.
Systems of dominance are doomed to fail. Men created the very structure that they believe is destroying them. This structure harms everyone. Historically and globally, life has centered maleness which has created an unnatural imbalance between the sexes. As women and girls are now being "seen" and making their way in the world, men are coming to the realization that they aren't the center. We need each other and we always have. There is no me without you. As it is said, men are so used to being in control, that equality feels like chaos. Humans will need to learn that dominating other humans is to the detriment of us all.
There is no disappearance of men. There is no disappearance of masculinity. This is complete and total bogus nonsense. Men may be having a crisis of identity this changing world, but by no means has that resulted in "men" and "masculinity" shrinking in our culture. Absolutely stupid and idiotic. The cause of these issues are is the same cause for the issues women face, the issues children face, the issues we all face. That cause is capitalism. It the cause of 99.9% of the worlds problems. Literally. Not being sarcastic or facetious. The identity crisis of men and everything that goes with that, has been caused by capitalism and how capitalism has shaped culture for the last several hundred years.
What's wrong with Joe Rogan?
42:36 - Expanding consciousness, for sure, beats having the plan be 'lets mug each other over genes!' which seems to be the default when we lack a greater vision.

The only words i understood in this explanation was when he said 'nobody understands what I'm saying'
It's funny all your globbers don't know s*** about this at all other than what you've been taught you've never been to space you can't prove any of it and you don't even trust what your eyes can see so evaluate one's intelligence question everything think for yourself look for yourself
It's funny have you guys ever tried to do your own math equation on your explanation of the curvature it doesn't work you can see land further than you should be able saying like the shore of Michigan you can see Chicago with the proper equipment and by your math equation the tallest skyscraper should be 700 to 900 ft below the horizon I believe
It's funny you guys use Bill Nye as a scientist in this way because technically he's a mechanical engineer that has nothing to do with most science its robotics electricity and something else problem solving you would need to study e s s Earth and space science to understand or talk about any of this quit believing what everybody else tells you

Thanks for taking up a very important issue of our times. One of the things we - the human society - have lost over time is to be able to entertain thoughts that have no material basis. One such thought is the thought of `self'. I don’t know if the concept of self is the one that could have started as `soul' or `spirit'. The only word we presently have is `identity’ or `personality’, which in my opinion, fails to reflect the entire concept. But psychology talked about healthy self and unhealthy self for a long time before behaviourist and cognitive revolutions. Perhaps, the idea was allowed to die out because the `self' is a mere theoretical construct. There is not and cannot be any material `proof’ of the self. It cannot be caught on MRI, or seen in scans or x-rays or in neurological pathways. It was believed that our sensory and social interactions (later on it was admitted that our body, genes and hormones do play a part) lead to creation of a mental entity we then called self. Such a self, which has to be within bounds of social acceptability and can surpass it only with social aspirations and ideals, when healthy, prevents distress, addresses anxiety, and keeps envy in check. Absence of self is madness, where one merely reacts to sensory stimulation, no matter how it is caused. Perhaps, today, under the assault of consumerist propaganda, sensory stimulation and narcissism has overtaken formation of such a self. One is nothing if one is not continually happy, extremely rich, brilliantly successful or emphatically assertive, it is widely believed. Professor Daniel Dennett calls such a self as some `organization of sensitivities and sensibilities.’ Once this self is formed and established, the sensory and the social self becomes secondary to this individualized self. It is perhaps not sufficiently recognized that such organization could be robust - meaning that person can find a station in life, which is sufficient for himself or herself, or that such a self could also be fickle - meaning that no centred and consistent behaviour pattern evolves over the growth process from infancy to adulthood. In simple terms, one is either matured or has failed to mature. The difference between the two is: whether one is merely reacting to evolving circumstances, or whether one is acting as a `self’ in dealing with the evolving circumstances is lost. Indeed, for a such a self to emerge and establish itself one must need circumstances so that such self can be supported economically and socially. Dr, Winnicott had written a book about it: “Maturational Processes and Facilitating Environment.” One could feel distressed because one has been invaded by a force alien to oneself, as so often happened in history of monarchies, colonialism or slavery. Instead of invasion by an alien force, today, more and more people are driven by propaganda to consumerism and sensory pleasures. I wonder if such people are the ones the author is talking about. Is it not that only such people who fail to find happiness or contentment in life? Forgive me if I sound as second-guessing the author. I am merely thinking out loud.

very shallow and off thinking mr zizek
That’s so funny crazy how people are religiously to the notion that we are monkeys because… That’s what everyone else says in the scientific community instead of looking at things logical
In today’s society a congressman or woman can yell at the top of their lungs for what’s right, and everyone will back them. If an autistic person so much as makes a sound, everyone loses their mind, dismisses them, makes fun of them, or abuses them in some way. 😢
